I’ve wanted to create a blog for a while now, but something has always held me back. I used to blame it on my hectic schedule, but to be honest, I think the real culprit was my fear of perfectionism. I could all too easily envision myself sitting in front of my laptop screen, searching for the right words and editing for hours until I deemed something “worthy” of being posted. So, to honor this blog and everything for which I want it to stand, I’ve decided to take the exact opposite approach.
I’m finally starting this blog because I want to create and share in an honest and unrefined manner. I want to talk about topics such as my time at Penn, my running journey, tips for a healthy lifestyle, and absolutely anything that comes to mind, comes to me by request, or goes beyond what can be captured by my Instagram pictures dating back to 2012 (I encourage beg you not to ever go back that far). If Instagram is such a highlight reel, consider this my real reel :–). The purpose of this blog is two-fold. First, I find writing to be therapeutic and reflective, and I want to use it as a means of expressing and freeing my inner thoughts/experiences. Second, I hope to write about things with which people can resonate. If just one of my posts helps one person, then mission accomplished.
Before signing off this intro, I want to give a quick insight into who I am for any readers who might not already know. My name is Karli Visconto. I’m 22 years old and am a recent graduate of Penn where I ran cross country and track. I was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia, but I’ve recently made the move to NYC to pursue a career in finance. There’s nothing I love more than my family and friends; close seconds include food, music, fashion, traveling, WWE (@me), and helping people. I hope you keep up with me to learn more!
